The Outstanding Thomasian Alumni (TOTAL) Awards
The TOTAL Awards has served as the University of Santo Tomas' (UST) venue for recognizing alumni who have made significant contributions to the various industries.
Annually given by the UST administration and the UST Alumni Association, Inc., the TOTAL Awards also aims to inspire Thomasian students to strive for professionalism and spiritual enrichment especially after their stay at the University.
The alumni awardees are individuals who exude the Thomasian identity characterized by competence in pioneering human endeavors, compassion for other members of the society, and commitment to their profession. These are considered as the hallmarks that make a Thomasian stand out as he/she takes the challenge to live up to the legacy of UST.
Previous TOTAL awardees include former President Diosdado Macapagal, National Artists Leandro Locsin, F. Sionil Jose, and Daisy Hontiveros-Avellana, journalists Teodoro Locsin, Sr., Eugenia Apostol, Jesus Sison, Ben Rodriguez, Ramon Francisco, and Jose Guevarra, stage actress Zeneida Amador, poet Ophelia Dimalanta, glass sculptor Ramon Orlina, ambassador Enrique Syquia, business executives Washington SyCip, Nina Aguas, Peter Favila, Eric Cruz, Tony Tan Caktiong, and a host of other distinguished alumni who have carved a niche for themselves here and abroad.
